The Algarve offers one of the best winter cycling climates in Europe, which is precisely why the Tour of Algarve takes place here every February.
During this period, temperatures are mild and ideal for riding, typically ranging between 15°C and 22°C during the day, with cooler mornings around 10 to 13°C. The winter light is clear, days are mostly sunny, and conditions are particularly enjoyable for consecutive days on the bike.
Occasional showers may occur, but they are usually brief and rarely disruptive. This stable weather is one of the main reasons many WorldTour teams choose the region to prepare for the upcoming season.
You will therefore ride in the same conditions as the professional peloton, at the very same time of year.
The Algarve is far more than a coastal destination. It is a true cycling playground shaped by the demands of professional racing.
Throughout the trip, you will ride on roads used during the Tour of Algarve, moving between ocean panoramas, quiet inland valleys, and mountainous terrain further inland. The landscape constantly evolves between flowing sections, steady climbs, and smooth descents, creating a complete and varied riding experience.
Road surfaces are excellent and traffic remains limited once outside urban areas, making the region a preferred training destination for professional teams.
Iconic climbs such as Foia, the highest point in the Algarve, and Malhão, often decisive in the overall classification, perfectly represent the character of the region. Here, you are not simply watching the race, you are riding on its terrain.
Each day is designed around the Tour of Algarve route in order to combine enjoyable riding with true race immersion.
Daily distances generally range between 60 and 100 kilometres, with elevation gain adapted to the stage profile and the level of the group. The objective is to offer an experience inspired by professional cycling while remaining accessible and enjoyable for all participants.
The pace is always adjusted to the group. This trip is not a competition but an immersion into cycling culture, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of the race while fully enjoying the landscapes and the pleasure of riding.
